Here is what I am taking on the big Section E "Fight to the Death - Take No
Prisoners - Bayonet the Wounded" Expedition starting this weekend. This is
my daily nutrition package that I will carry in a sandwich ZipLock bag for
breakfast, snacks, and lunch. Of course, this is a test and will probably be
modified after the trip. Everything comes out to about 12 ounces.
1. two fruit leathers
2. peanut butter crackers
3. corn nuts, nuts, and Gardetto's Italian cheese blend
4. Hydroalite pack
5. Emer'gen-C with 500mg glucosamine and 400mg chondroitin (purple pack)
6. two Oreo cookies
7. one pack of Sweet Leaf natural sweetener
8. two LaraBars (breakfast on the trail)
9. one pack of Frutein (breakfast on the trail - mixes with water)
10. vitamins and meds (breakfast time)
11. Crystal Light on the go pack (lemonade or orange mix)
12. candy and gum (three LifeSavers and two Double Bubble sugar free gums)
13. small towelet pac to wipe tears from eyes at about the 12 mile point
I don't eat meat very much, so I do not carry jerky anymore. :-( I used
to get mine at a real meat only store in Las Vegas. They made it fresh on
request and it was super good. Keep a sliced apple in your jerky container on
the trail to keep it fresher. Super neat to have fresh jerky meat about 40
miles into a hike. Anything I do not use in a daily pac will be put in an
extra food supply bag, but I will try to use most of the daily pac.
