Some proper context is in order. That's an account of early season,
wicked-snow-year fording with a reasonably fast snowmelt.
Not to down play the serious nature of a well planned creek ford, 'most'
thru-hikers won't have to deal with fords of this serverity.
So if you're new to the list or you're thru-hiking next year, don't
over-react to this awesome, hair-raising, white knucle post. :)

When you cross something so deep and swift, what do you do with your pack?
Any tricks? And how do you get dry if everything is wet and you're into the
evening and in snow? You guys are amazing.
