Anyone know what happened to The Mule?  Not Mule, whom I heard about
up North, but "The Mule", who started out in SoCal, didn't know about
any maps for the trail, carried about a ton of stuff, wore jeans and
flannel, and hardly seemed to talk to anyone.  Last I saw him was just
before going into the Tehachapi's and I don't think he carried much
water.  I was supposed to meet with him in Mojave, but my ride showed
up early, so I never got the chance.
