Actually, those 7 subjects won't get important until well past Mt Laguna.
They are actually 3 subjects
1) How is your body holding up
2) How is your Food/Water availability
3) How is your personal safety doing
Or simply: Survival. After a few hundred miles, very little else matters.
In ancient times, when survival was the primary issue, god's biggest job
was to help us survive.
Those of us who are religious still thank god for our food before we eat.
