[pct-l] Pacsafe

I remember being sometimes hassled by store and restaurant personnel about bringing my backpack into their establishments on my AT thru-hike, and having to leave the pack somewhere where I couldn't keep my eye on it while shopping or eating. Happens around here too sometimes on weekend backpacks. I've considered buying the smallest version of Pacsafe www.pac-safe.com to carry along - is this much of a problem in trail-towns along the PCT, or can I save the 1.1 lbs and go without? Thanks... Hey. I just finished hiking, and, for the first time in my life, it
seems that I am about to begin amassing much debt. I am looking for
work, but so far my efforts have been rather fruitless. I got to
thinking that a lot of the people that I had met on the trail had cool
jobs in the outdoor field, and that I should ask the list if people had
an ideas...

So. If you work in the outdoor field, can you send me an email telling
me the name of your institution? If you don't work in the outdoor arena,
and have ideas, well, those are welcome too. I appreciate any help I can
get very much.

On list or off is fine with me. Up to you if you think it is germane.
