I feel a little luckier to have slept thru the same bear's two visits to my
camp on Forester pass last month. Jim Manning, the attackee, wrote "Islands
of Solitude, Hiking the Pacific Crest Trail", a very good trail journal and
one that I read last winter. My life seems, at times, a series of small
circles within the long journey ..
