the best advice i can give you is  to head to snoqualmie pass instead. If you head out to stevens pass you will hit traffic from south seattle all the way to everett(405 is worse). take 1-90 to snoqualmie pass. youll spend a lot less time in traffic and a lot more time in the mountains.
