Cookie Monster?

He's hiking with Hildalgo, Bloody Fist, and Nitro. They were headed into Shelter Cove about two weeks ago.
We all took about an hour break together on the trail and before I headed south Cookie Monster gave me a huge bag of these really great Paul Newman chocolate cookies!

Heh guys

Has anyone heard how Jason aka Cookie Monster is doing? We hiked with him on Sections A-C this spring. We were able to follow his progress on the PCT2005.com website (he is the cool guy in the lime green shirt in a lot of the photos). With the unfortunate loss of Pete from the trail I have lost track of him. Any update would be much appreciated.

As an aside I can confirm the stories about the ultra smart bear in Vidette Meadows. I just got off the JMT and there is this one bear who seems to be able to figure out how to open almost any clear bear cannister. He just doesn't quit. He grabs and play and bounces til he gets open. I have the bear vault and was perfectly delighted with in. However, we passed up the chance to camp in Vidette meadows on the Upper Bubbs Creek and camped at the base of Forester. We heard lots of first hand stories from other hikers and the rangers. Personally I would either not camp at Vidette or use the few bear boxes along the way. On the other hand you gotta admire a bear who can figure it out. It tool me a whole to figure out how to open the cannister. The next thing we are going to see is the bear panhandling for a quarter so he can open the original cannisters...

Hike on

Brian aka Trouble
