I picked up the paper today and just found out that the northwest hiking community and the P.C.T.,have lost not only a pioneer,but a great friend.
When i first moved up to Washington,hers was the first book i picked up,and it introduced me to many wonder full places.
Its not often you get to meet someone you greatly admire,but i did get to meet Louise at a Washington trails association dinner a few years back,and she couldn't have been nicer.
I think tomorrow I'm going to honor her last request:take a hike.
