[pct-l] my 2 cents with scary sounds

Ok, so not a sound as much as a sight. I was hiking with my girlfriend in 
the Tetons in July. We had gone up to Hidden Falls, and were walking back to 
the car on Jenny Lake Trail. We decided to detour onto Moose Pond Loop, an 
alternate route back to the parking lot. While Jenny Lake Trail was crowded, 
Moose Pond was completely deserted. The trail goes past the pond, and then 
through a thicket of willows. We heard sounds in the brush ahead, and a 
moose and her calf burst onto the trail 50 feet in front of us, charging 
right for us. She came within about 10 feet before veering off. I somehow 
managed to not wet my pants.
As if that were not bad enough, the trail then goes into the woods. It was 
getting dark, when I noticed scratch marks on a tree that started quite a 
bit higher than my eye level (I am 6' 7"). Needless to say, we picked up the 
pace.

I know, not as good as most, but thats my story.
