I have pretty sure-fire plans of joining the 2006 crowd. I have a
journal started. I guessed the kickoff would be the 22nd so planned on
starting about 7-10 days after that in hopes of spreading out the pulse
a bit. But, now it sounds like (perhaps) this would put me right in the
thick of things.
I tried to start a conversation regarding the expected snow levels about
a month ago. If you google "el nino" and go to one of the first NOAA
hits there are some interesting forecasts. Anyways, looks like an
average winter precipitation prediction, but then again, the faithful
list-serve readers said that last year's forecast didn't look
particularly foreboding either... so I think it's clear that there is a
lot of variation when dealing with weather at such long time scales.
Anyways, look forward to meeting everybody. If anybody wants to share
details regarding planning of just about any sort, I'm definitely game.
