While working with a PCTA trail crew about three miles south of Carson
Pass, just north of Forestdale Divide, I met Tom of Tom and Crystal (but
now just Tom as Crystal had to drop out due to stress fractures). It was
about 3 pm on Saturday, August 13th.
Tom thought he was near the head of the Southbound group, the thru hikers
that started from Manning.
