[pct-l] Cheese and Section O

I recently pushed my way through Section O and am very happy to have emerged on the other side of the entangling overgrowth (being only 5-2.50 inches, it was sometimes as tall as me). I am on an 11 year quest of the trail and saved this section for close to the end (2006) figuring I'd have the benefit of the latest trail work. And, bless their hearts, a CCC crew was hard at work as as I passed them near Peavine Creek ( I, too, was part of a trail crew on that section a couple of years ago to put in a little pay-back). Worse than the brush to me, though, was the heat and lack of water. I didn't realize it was so dry! But, of course, Mama Nature always rules, and I managed to get through on her terms, albeit a bit thirsty at times.
As for cheese, for years I have carried Kaukauna Smoky Cheddar (or a couple of other varieties). This is a processed cheese product found in the deli sections of markets that I find delicious. It comes in an 8-ounce plastic container and definitely lasts over a week. In hot weather it can sometimes resemble fondue, but the next morning it has firmed up again. Just be sure to place it in a well-sealed plastic baggie.
My very best to all those currently on the trail -- it's a tough year!
