[pct-l] Anyone out there heard reviews....

of course, this is just my opinion, but i suggest forgetting all about
the NB's and going for the Vasque Velocity. Its the most incredible
trail shoe I've ever worn. The thing holds the trail like a boot, but
is 1/3 the weight and ten times more comfortable. I have run dozens of
trail ultras in them including the PCT 50 miler and I've nevr gotten any
blisters or had any problems with them at all.

Contrast that to the NB 708's that I wore last weekend for 16 miles in
Yosemite. My Vasques were kinda grimey from a Grand Canyon rim to rim
to rim jaunt that I did two weeks ago, so I grabbed these 708's that I
had laying around and though "hey, its only 16 miles, so no problem".
After only 16 miles, I got blisters on both feet. Also, the NB's do not
protect the feet *nearly as good* as the Vasque's. Its really no
comparison.

Right now the REI outlet as the Vasque Velocity on sale for $56(about
40% off), so I am planning on buying two more pair for when these wear
out and they no longer make them or change the model enough so that they
are no longer a decent shoe.
