Kennedy Meadows (north), west of the PCT on Highway 108 -
 ? good burgers
 ? very limited store
 ? friendly people

Bridgeport, east from the PCT on Highway 108, then south on Highway 395
? middle-sized grocery stores
? restaurants which cater to highway travelers, some good, some very
mediocre
? motels
? great bakery

Both would take a hitch. Bridgeport is further away.
