[pct-l] subject: lots of snow in origan.

In Oregon, you can pretty much assume there will be snow above 6000 ft into
mid-July for most of the state, especially on north facing slopes...
regardless of the year!

Good luck,
Steady

subject: lots of snow in origan.

jackalope and i, preacher jim, started again in origan at ashland
and got to our first resuply at lake of the woods just find. there was
some snow here and there, but nothing bad. than headed on to crater
lake. first 20 miles or so was half trail and half snow, but still the
trail was findable. than we got to a point just after sky lake trail
at around 6000 feet that turned to all snow. the further we got the
less trail untill we were just heading north and hopeing to make it.
with 30 miles left over 6000 feet and snow about 2 to 3 feet deep
everywhere except around the base of trees, we turned back. do not
know how the rest of origan is, but where we are, trail is imposible
to find. this snow is bad and can be expected anywhere over 6000 feet
even at 5000 in some places. just a heads up.
