[pct-l] Getting Into Trouble on the Trail

I would disagree with your supposition.

A skilled outdoors man, ultralite or otherwise, realizes there are
options that exist outside the walls of one's pack. Skills and
physical fitness are by far more important than the gear in the pack.

The unskilled Ultraliter is dangerous, indeed! The wizened one knows
the limits of his abilities and plans accordingly. The result may be
to use the Visa card to ride out a storm in town.

There is also a certain amount of risk associated with being over
burdened with "margin." How many of us started with a full pack and no
skills? We were quite a sight!

The brain is by far the most important piece of gear.

cheers,
terry
