#38 - Hiking Business Cards: Just like in everyday life, a small business
card with you name, cell phone, email, trail journal address, trails done, etc.,
is a great way to introduce yourself and let people know how to keep up to
date on your progress. The creativity for such hiking cards would be very
interesting. I bet people would collect them and write the date on the card when
they got them. I noticed this technique on the trail this year out of the April
Kickoff and thought it was very clever. The cost would be minimal to get
some printed up. Also, I think there is safety element to having these cards for
distribution. People know where and when they met you and that could be
valuable if something happened. It certainly would have been this year on the
trail. I know if I was out doing a long hike, I would like to collect personal
hiking cards of all the people I met along the way. It would be part of my
memories of the hike. For you ultra lights, the weight of some cards would be
minimal or you could have some holes in your cards.
