[pct-l] RE: Sandals

OK Sandals I've hiked off and on for the past three years in sandals. The
ones I first started with were Wolfe Island. I bought them because they were
on sale at Payless shoes, $7.00. They were one size bigger than I wear, 14s.
The larger size seemed to keep me from hitting my toes on rocks and things.
I wore them continuously until my heels started splitting. I used Vaseline
intensive care on them. I now use in addition to the Wolfe Islands, a pair
of Teva's. These were a little harder to get used to because of the x
pattern that is the foot bed. I will be using them today in this 100 degree
temp we are having here in Murrieta, Ca. Its been the high 80s to 100s all
week and looks like another week of it coming up. The shoes I use on the PCT
are the NB806s. I some times take my sandals with me to use as camp shoes.
All this works for me. Remember
"Be Prepared" Ground Pounder Bill "Semper Fi"
