Someone finally said it. Thank you, Donna.

The ADZ is not about 'the trail'; it's about the ADZ, for the sake of the ADZ.
The April 22nd date this year is a glaring testimony of that. The date was
not set based on trail conditions, but scheduling conveniences. 

That is simply wrong.

This post is not intended as a flame, so don't take it as such. 

Thru-hikers remember, your hike is about your experience on the trail. Don't
lose focus of that. As I've said before, the parties are incidental.
