[pct-l] ice axe or suicide

I have been debating the whole ice axe situation and getting a lot of 
information off the previous postings on the subject.  I am still debating 
whether to invest in one.  Ill be on the JMT in early July and I know the 
above average snow fall but would I be committing suicide if I went without 
one????  One reason is that I have never used an ice axe and living in 
Florida I donâ??t know of that many lessons that are being offered.  Does 
any one know of a good site to get solid information off of and where would 
be the best place to purchase one, on line, due to the limited supply in the 
sunshine state?  Thanks!! Dustin
