[pct-l] Donner to Castella suggestions?

Hi,
 
I plan to hike from Donner Pass to Castella this summer and am looking for any trail wisdom
that this list might provide to make the journey more enjoyable. I particularly like to chase 
and photograph wild flowers, so if anyone knows when the bloom season for that stretch is
 good, I would appreciate the opinion. My target is sometime in June or July.
 
Also, I am considering hitching out to Quincy for resupply, but cannot find much in the PCT 
Town Guide (2002). Any info to offer?
 
Other caveates, suggestions welcomed.
