[pct-l] ice axe and bounce buckets

I used the Camp[ XLA 210 in 70 cm length, which is the longest one they make. It will definitely not fit in a 5 gallon paint bucket. I doubt any full size axes will. However, you could buy something called a "Third Tool" and that would. However, it will be heavier (probably) and less useful (definitely) than an ultralight axe.

The two standard axes that get a lot of use on the PCT are the Camp and the Cassin Ghost. Buy which ever is cheapest, but realize that their utility is limited to things like the PCT. Another option is the Grivel Air Tech Racing, which is an actual functioning ice axe (meaning you can do things other than self belay with it), which weighs about 14 oz. The Black Diamond Raven is similar.
