[pct-l] Where's Ski Mountaineers Pass near Forrester Pass

However, your description is correct for Ski Mountaineers Pass, as I read
R.J. Secor's "The High Sierra - Peaks, Passes and Trails".

According to the book, Ski Mountaineers Pass is .3 miles ESE of Forester
Pass.
It's class 1-2 and sounds annoying to hike if there's no snow (sand, talus,
scree),
but it says in moderate to heavy snow years (I'd say this year counts) that
it
provides an alternative that avoids the cliff on the south side of Forester.
The
slope is moderate on both sides and may be passable in winer or spring (I'm
sure
he's talking to skiers here). Secor also warns of a cornice forming some
years, but
makes it sound like a rare occurrence.

Having hiked there headed south this past fall (Oct. 1), I'd say Forester
could be ugly with some snow and ice. I only had to deal with an inch or
two
of recent snow in some places, but it looked like it had the potential to
be really icy and slick
