Hi!
I didn't reply to the does your honey hike thread. My husband does
backpack but does not thru-hike because he likes to carry a lot of
heavy food and a bottle of wine....nice way to spend 2-3 days in the
wilderness, I must say! He is a gourmet cook, beer and wine
connoisseur and can't stand the thought of eating the same stuff all
the time. He will be my biggest re-supply support this summer and is
even considering become a trail beer angle after my relation of the
long beer thread. I'm sure he would take suggestions for good No. Cal
cache spots.
Anyway, We would like to go down south to see the wildflowers and the
butterflies this week or next (miss the weekend crowds) and were
thinking about going out to the Mojave. When we are hiking together we
do 10 miles (or less) a day backpacking (1-3 nights) or car camp and
day hike up to 15 miles in one day, exploring form our "base camp".
If any of you So Cal folks can suggest a pretty hike (either on or near
the PCT or not is fine) that fits those criteria, I would really
appreciate it.
Please reply to me OFF LIST, so as not to clog up the list.
Thanks a lot!
Mara
