Where I have seen snakes on/near the PCT
Mt. San Jacinto SP, CA sec B--a mountain king snake
Holcomb Valley, sec C, at least 5 rattlesnakes on trail and in the 
established camps
Silverwood Lake, approaching Cleghorn Ridge--rattlesnake
Lost Valley Scout Camp, section B, rattlesnakes
Kern Canyon and Bubbs Creek Canyon, Sequoia NP, rattlesnakes
These were all memorable adrenaline-producing moments, but didn't seem 
life-threatening.
