[pct-l] pedicure?

hi all-

i've seen suggestions on this list periodically that it's a good idea to 
get a pedicure before a big hike... i'd like to, the only thing is, i'm 
not quite sure where to go... is your typical cosmetic pedicurist going 
to be knowledgeable enough to do the job right, or are they mostly just 
concerned with making your nails look all pretty? if that's the case, 
then where do i go- a foot doctor? for me, that might be prohibitively 
expensive. i'm in san diego, if anyone has any specific recommendations.
