2-3 days for Priority Mail is an estimate made by the USPS. Sometimes, Priority Mail delivery to small towns/resorts
takes 5-7 days. Although this is not the norm, it does
happen.
I recommend that you never use a mailing method that
requires you to sign for the package.
----If the package requires a signature and is mailed
to a business/home, sometimes the USPS will hold the
package at the PO, not at the business/home. The PO
could be in another town.
----If the package requires a signature and you want
a friend to pick up your mail for you, they will not
be able to pick up your package.
I agree with the person who stated that you should
NEVER use Parcel Post. I asked a Postmaster how
Parcel Post works. She said something like this:
"When the mail truck comes, the first thing put on
the truck is Express Mail, then Priority Mail, then
First Class Mail, then Parcel Post Mail. If there's
no room for Parcel Post, it doesn't go on the truck.
The next day, we start again with Express, then
Priority, then First Class, then Parcel, etc."
Always use Priority!!

Hi,
I am planning on using priority mail for a good deal of
my resupply. The post office web site says something to the effect that
it usually takes two or three days to deliver priority mail.
I am wondering what has been the experience of those who
have used it what the max time it takes to deliver is - assuming
they don't lose the package altogether? I a guessing a week should be
reasonable. In my case everything will be mailed from the
west coast.
