[pct-l] FIRE PERMIT REQUIRED_YES

I'm glad Tim will be at the ADZ. Hopefully we can get all this worked out.

I interpret his comments to mean that the thruhike permit covers fires made
in "areas that require a [wilderness] permit." Again, the permit someone
recently received said it allowed making fires.

I have my annual campfire permit. It was issued by a volunteer at a USFS
ranger station. Hopefully PCTA and USFS will find a way to have PCTA issue
these with the thruhike permit.

What's more amazing to me is that Monty's posted a site you can get a
campfire permit by fax, but the ranger station I visited would only do them
in person so they could educate the user on fire safety. They then said they
could only issue me a permit good until May 1, and proceeded to issue one
good through February 2006!

The confusion on all of this not just on the list but at the affected ranger
stations is amazing. I'm sure by ADZ it will all be figured out.
