Okay, here is the sequence of downloads that I had to do in order to view and
run World Wind;
1) Download World Wind v1.2
2) Install World Wind (run the .exe)
3) The install program prompted me that I need DirectX 9.0 in order to run
World Wind and would I like to download it now? Do this if you don't have
DirectX 9.0 yet, of course.
4) The install program then prompted me that I needed .NET in order to run
World Wind and would I like to download it now? Do this too.
5) Install DirectX 9.0 and .NET per their install programs, restarting about
eight times in between.
6) Finally run the World Wind install program and it should load fine.
7) Run World Wind and have fun with this net based, finite definition,
digital globe.
I hope this helps. I know just enough about computers to get myself and my
computer into deep trouble.

Greg,
I was checking out the page, and the intitial downloads. Could you give some
helpful hints on what is the best sequence to load. When I hit download
Worldwind
I get a list of world names; then I, freak.exe. Also the picture on page 2
of
Mt Shasta is a view of the PCT and the view is looking NNE from Mt Eddy to
Shasta.
The PCT is in the bottom center. Great site, just need a trail guide..
