Heresies? Naah..just a different way of doing things.

Personally, I think it is the antithesis of
lightweight hiking to carry 50 lbs (to start) with the
bulk of your weight being food, but whatever floats
your boat.

Personally, I liked my Snickers and bar burger (with
beer) when I went to town. :)

20 days of hiking the Colorado Trail IS a pretty quick
pace no matter what food, gear and re-supply strategy
is taken.
