On my way out to California a couple years ago after a stop in Memphis in
order to get back on the bus there was a search and the guy had a metal detector.
Well, I had my 1 oz Swiss Army Classic and declared it. There was no way
the guy was going to let me on the bus or put it in my pack. The best I could
do was ship it ahead for a $5 charge. Ship it ahead to where, the ADZPCTKO?
Fortunately, I talked a supervisor into letting me put it in my pack.

Not to say it can't happen, but in the last few years, I've ridden Greyhound
from the East to San Diego, twice; MT to NM and VT to NC and have never had my
pack searched.
