I use a product called SportSlick for chafing. It is good for bike
chamois, underarm chafing (kayak paddling), and especially for the
chafing of toes when hiking. It was developed for the feet of marathon
runners doing the Badwater run from Death Valley to Whitney Portal. I
use it on my feet with success. As for thighs, the shorts I wear
prevent thigh chafing, but there is always the misery of monkey butt,
salt rash in creases, etc. Sportslick is good for all these things.
(Between the Pink Motel and Whitewater, I developed salt rash in a
groin crease, and all I had was a chapstick. I used it and it saved me
from serious unhappiness.) But I digress. Sportslick comes in a big
tube, a little tube, and in a plastic glide type dispenser. Check out
