[pct-l] 10 Days of Food in a bear can
Gadget;
I don't know of any dehydrated donuts, but maybe you could
start a new food business when you get back?
All my other recent backpacks have been 9-10 days. So you
can afford to loose 3 LB over the course of that trip. In
the case of doing the entire PCT, I doubt I will get away
with that. But also remember that how much weight you take
in food (read in calories) depends on what size of person
you are, height, weight, genetics, ect.
I am currently about 145LB, and since being partiality on
the Hallaliua Diet. diet, have dropped 13LB+ from 157LB
(2002). Since then I don't need as much food on the trail,
because I am carrying 10% less body weight and I need less
food when I eat healthy (no offense to you Ultra lighters
who eat lots of Junk food).
I noticed from the 110 Mile trip to Reds Meadow 2003

That after I drop under 140LB momentarily, the hiker hunger
starts kicking in...So how much I take on the PCT Trek will
have to come up a little. Oh, yes... and eat lots at the
resupply points :-).
