I second SnoLepard's comments. I too wore the Joe Trailman gaiters and it did take two pair for the entire hike..., but for the price, weight, stretch and breathability these gaiters can't be beat. I glued the velcro fastener on the shoes I shipped to myself and was good to go when I got my new shoes. Buzz
