It is what I used on the PCT and for the CT as well. 

For the princely sum of $4, I had a poly-cotton blend
shirt (with a front pocket large enough for my
camera!) that kept the sun off my arms and neck, as
well as keeping the bugs at bay.

I do tend to tan easily however so I am not as
concerned about UV radiation getting through the shirt
as others who may have a lighter complexion. YMMV.
