[pct-l] Mini Alcohol Stove.
2-4 tablespoons/meal depending on water temperature, altitude and how long you
boil it for and how efficient your particular stove is. I use about 3 but I
don't boil as much water as you do. Try some of your meals before you go hiking
to get the hang of it and be sure you're carrying enough fuel.
I scratch a mark in my stove so I can see where to fill it to. Other people use
a 35mm film cannister (which holds 3 TBSP)as a measuring device.
Your next question will be about what to carry the fuel in. Some folks use small
soda bottles (which I have used in the past). However, the platypus "Li'l
Nipper" (which is meant for the other kind of alcohol) holds 20 TBSP+. I fill it
to the 20TBSP limit which leaves just enough slack that it will fold and fit in
my cookpot. The Li'l Nipper is light, too: 0.6 oz.
