[pct-l] PCT Highway 138 to 58
Not much current water info yet, but this may help. First, most desert
sources are spigots or very small pools, so you'll probably want a bucket or
something to water the livestock with. I don't know what packers usually do.
There is a newer water spigot near the Cottonwood Creek bridge about 16
miles north of Hwy 138. The horse trough mentioned in the guidebook has been
concreted shut.
A few miles further, you may likely find water in Tylerhorse Canyon.
A newer tank and shower around mile 553 is not in the guidebook. Some have
gotten water here, some have found the water off in early season.
Oak Creek is usually a muddy mess, but may be better this year.
As Donna said, more info will be on the web when reports start coming in.
Since you'll be ahead of the herd, if you can send us a report I'll update
the website with your info to help those following.
