The only things officially taboo are flames and off topic posts.

However, the following topics have already been beaten to death and you 
might find a review of the archives just as enlightening and less stressful:
Mtn Bikes
Cell Phones
Bear Cans
Guns
Dogs

And as in any society, Politics and Religion are sure to create unpleasantries.
