[pct-l] fishing the pct
Dave,
Spoken as a true fisherman, just one fish on the line justifies carrying
the pole. But the Sierra is full of trout to be sure-- from the S. Fork Kern
all the way up. I don't think there's much in the way of fishing before KM.
I know less about the Cascades but maybe others could chime in.
I put together the following fly rig:
Redington WFR 764/5 7'6" graphite rod (4pc)
Scientific Angler 123R reel
With a foam fly box, flies, leaders and tippet, the toal weight is 9 oz.
I rigged it with 5 wt weight-forward line to make it easier to fish lakes,
but it really is optimized for tighter stream and river fishing. Can't wait
to load up and go fishing!!
Cheers,
Jeff
