April 17, 1975.  About 1 inch.  Significant??  More
like ominous since I (and others) were on snow more
than 80% of the miles from Weldon (Onyx) to Lake
Tahoe.  In retrospect, it was like one of those signs
along the Yellow Brick Road, "I'd turn back if I were
you!".  And if you look at the snow data for April 1,
1975, you will not see anything extraordinary.  So if
you show up at Campo and there is more than an inch of
snow on the ground, you might consider hiking the Baja
Crest Trail instead.  <also smiles>
