I drank roughly 6 liters of water a day, and a set of Aquamira bottles
treats 120 liters, so I planned on it lasting about three weeks. I can
remember two or three water sources where I wished I'd had a filter,
but I wouldn't hesitate to use Aquamira on another thru-hike.

I've heard that Aquamira isn't approved for sale in California,
perhaps because methamphetamines can be made with it (this might be
urban myth). So you can either buy in bulk before the hike and keep it
in your bounce box, or locate an online source that will ship to you
on the trail.
