I've got the little shock absorbers built into my REI ultralight poles.
I almost NEVER set them to anti-shock. Only if I'm on a long descent on
very rocky trails will I take the time to set the anti-shock because,
THEN I can feel the difference of the constant banging of the tips on
rock dampened a bit. Other than that, I don't stop to twist-set them to
meet every condition that I encounter on the trail.

Are there any comments about anti-shock vs. non anti-shock poles?
