[pct-l] South Shore Inn

I remember going there in 2002. They were very happy
about the idea of taking in hikers and wanted to do it
on a more regular basis. Glad to see other hikers are
enjoying their hospitality. They truly are nice
people.

With everything in such close walking distance (AYCE
buffets, grocery stores, outfitters), S. Lake Tahoe
makes for a great re-supply spot.I even caught a movie
in town at one of the casinos. If the South Shore Inn
is not on the pegboard, they are listed in Yogi's PCT
handbook (www.pcthandbook.com) as well as the local
Yellow Pages (it is how I found their number). Even
if you have to go their on a weekend, the shuttle, the
location and the generosity of the owners makes it a
nice place. Split it up among 2-3 hikers and it is not
that bad for a nice treat.
