I'm sure it's happened many times but, there was a couple with a dog that met 
up with a Ranger in northern Yosemite, in '99 or 2000 and he immediately 
ordered them out of the Park.  They had to bail on a side trail.  It was probably 
a nice hike, but in the wrong direction.  I'm not sure if they got fined, but 
I would think one could be levied, if the ranger's in a foul mood.
