I met a fellow in Grace Meadows, northern Yosemite, just before Dorothy Lake 
and Pass who started on June 1.  He was all about his trip, the 
self-discipline of walking, and not at all about meeting up with other 
people.

There is a continuum between hanging with the crowd and doing your own 
thing.  Both require different skills....
