[pct-l] Cell Phone Charger
I'd love to hear from the old timers, yeah the class of 77, as to what type
of phone they carried along the PCT back than. I mean, given that the hills
were higher and the fords were deeper and the wind was always in their face,
I'm sure they must have had more of a need for mobile phone coverage.
Geez, folks, in this time of ultra light and light weight packing when our
pack weight limits require us to do town visits every 4-5 days (with the
exception of a few places), why can we not get along without cell phone
coverage?
No offense to those that choose to carry them, but, hey, I guess we all
differ in our opinions about what we really need on trail.
Reality Check

You now have my attention.
Which Carrier did you have and where did you start and end on the Washington
Section Hike.
A very interested Mountain Goat.

I took my cell phone on my section hike of most of WA and was pleasantly
surprised at how often I did have coverage. Usually at least once a day. My
biggest concern was battery charge which kept my conversations short. I am
curious whether anyone has ever used this hand charger - the side winder....

Seems to be fairly light and is lauded by the advertisers.
