Jinx-

I enjoy good meals on the trail. I dehydrate, vacuum seal and freeze:
dinners, jerky, and fruit mostly.

Here is a list backpacking type cookbooks I have found contain many
wonderful meals:

1.	Backpack Gourmet, by Linda Frederick Yaffe
2.	Lipsmackin' Backpackin' by Tim and Christine Conners
3.	And I also like- Dry It ~You'll like it! By Gen MacManiman and Mary
Bell's Complete Dehydrator Cookbook. Both of these books helped me learn how
to prepare, treat, and cook dehydrated foods when I was first learning.
4.	The Wilderness Chef - Gourmet Recipes for the Great Outdoors by
Claudine Martin is another book I purchased last year. I haven't, as of yet,
made any meals from this book, but they look GOOD.

I also dehydrate leftovers from meals I make during the non hiking year:
soups and chili - yummy!! I just make sure to run the leftover meals in the
Cuisinart (blender), just a few spins, so that all the food chunks are small
enough to dry all the way through. When I've left the food particles too
large, the food dries on the outside, but remains moist on the inside (it
spoils then).

Feel free to email me with any questions on which meals I like best or
whatever.

Good hiking and eating.
