[pct-l] If you're a Tyvek user

I spoke with Ric Tolhurst (Certified Tyvek Specialist) today, and in
doing so explained to him about the underground backcountry use of the
now famous HouseWrap. He responded by saying that one shouldn't use
HouseWrap, but rather another product by Tyvek, StuccoWrap. Where
HouseWrap is paper-like and noisy (pre-wash), StuccoWrap is soft and
pliable from the get go. My scales aren't delicate enough to discern a
weight difference, although I suspect that StuccoWrap is a skosh
heavier. Where HouseWrap is smooth, StuccoWrap is ripply, like I
imagine elephant skin would be. It was designed that way to channel any
water which penetrates stucco, straight down the wall, rather than
allowing it to track laterally.

In southern california (I don't say Cali and I won't say 'Frisco...dang
I'm gettin' old) it is being stocked by the Dixieline lumber yards, but
is not currently being carried by Home Despot.
