[pct-l] Collected Fees remain unused

Won't matter to me, because I've never paid them and don't plan to in the
future.

Subject: [pct-l] Collected Fees remain unused

Today's News in Olympia paper::: According to meeting in Bend, recreational
fees could become permanent later this month from program started in 1996.
Article states NPS, U.S. Fish and Wildlife, BLM and UFS collected 175.7
million in fiscal 2002 up from the 172.8 million collected in 2001. Problem
is , while some money was redirected into local projects, data released by
all four agencies revealed that a substantial amount has remained unused
each year. The money has been accumulating each year and was at 295.8
million thru 2002 fiscal.
That being said and with my high school education and 2 quarters of
college, looks like they could at least use somewhat more of those funds
for projects ( Like Glacier Peak reroute) and to stop cut backs on NPS
lands.
We pay to use these " World Heritage Sites" so why cut back to employees
that man them through budget cuts when we have this large surplus of funds
paid by the folks who use them most??? Where's Waldo and " Who's on First"
??
If we are going to make these fee's permanent, maybe they could at
least use the money? " Hiker Fees" Dodge
